Maxar Technologies is a space technology company that leads in satellite communications, Earth observation, advanced analytics, insights from machine learning, next-generation propulsion, space robotics, and more.

These graphics and the final web page design, showcase the different and unique companies who together provide integrated solutions to solve commercial and government customer’s complex challenges. 

THE CHALLENGE

We were initially provided the graphic below and asked to clean it up for presentation decks. From there, we were asked to design a web page that showcases the “Maxar family”–the four unique companies and their capabilities and how they tie together under Maxar. They wanted to depict the Maxar Technologies portfolio of space brands and their vertically integrated capabilities.

THE APPROACH

We initially envisioned a moving, interactive experience in which one can move from space to ground in order to understand how all of the capabilities are vertically integrated. Three concepts were wireframed and pitched, but in the end a simpler vision will be implemented for now. The grander vision will roll out for the 2.0 website. These web pages are in the process of being developed, but you can see how the initial graphic is being used here.
